Alphanumeric WBS Numbers


WBS or Work Breakdown Structure numbering shows the breakdown of work in a project.  For example, a typical project has several phases.  Each phase has several tasks that must be performed.  Sometimes, the tasks need to itemized to several levels.

Milestones Professional will automatically generate WBS numbers based on your project's outline level.

Alphanumeric WBS numbers let you control whether numbers or letters are used to represent the levels of your project. 

    
Here's an example schedule which illustrates one possible use of alphanumeric WBS numbering.  The Task column is just a list of tasks entered by the user.  The WBS column on the right side of the schedule (shaded yellow) is a WBS SmartColumn which uses alphanumeric numbering.
